Entering Laos is somewhat of a game of guessing: Which visa do I need for which border crossing, as most participants of The Race 3rd season also found out.

I took an e-visa for Boten Railway crossing, needing to use the correct train from China. I didn’t know until May 5th whether I would even get a ticket for the train that runs the connection daily.

Arriving in Vientiane (the capitol of Laos) in the evening it was quite a challenge to find something to eat, everything closes so early!

PS: I was surprised how little unmolested nature there was to see on Laos, also it seems I was there to witness what I use to call “the day of ritual tire burning” .. lots of smoke from fires, at least the sunset was colourful.
