Day 37: Mayday in Lanzhou - 12.000 km - The Complete Silk Road #silkroad
I spent May 1st in the Gansu Regional Museum in Lanzhou. Usually one has to register to get in, but because it was my birthday I was let in without a registration (usually to be done using a WeChat mini app).
I wanted to see the Flying Horse, a bronze, and one of 30 cultural artefacts so important, that they are not allowed to leave China.
In addition to this horse there are lots of exhibits from the history of Gansu, especially from it’s time of being the entry to the silk road.
As Laborday is a holiday season, there were a lot of celebrations around, in the evening I went to the river were people were hanging out.
I concluded my silkroad travel here and started what I would call operation #homerun .. getting home via Singapore.
PS: the livestream fascinated me, my first time I could see a production like that close up.
PPS: In the Chinese Calendar it is the Year of the Horse, so my whole day was horse themed :)
