What could have been such a wonderful 3000km through the Taklamakan and parts of Tibet became very unpleasant and somewhat dangerously serious fast.

Already in Kashgar I had some bronchitis (probably from the aircondition in Chinese trains and also perhaps because how people just cough at you, no questions asked).

In the highland above 3000m I had trouble breathing (the train is above 3000m for more than a day) which made for two very unpleasant days and a delirious night.

You might imagine I wasn’t very much into taking pictures or recording videos much, once the symptoms (lack of oxygen, difficulties breathing) set in.

PS: Bottle as a physics experiment, how much less oxygen is in the air at 3000m (picture taken at 1800m).

PPS: I still do not understand why they put water in the wastebaskets in the toilets and washrooms, what a mess when spilled! (which I saw)
